The purpose of the Awarua Trust is to promote and support charitable purposes (as such term is defined in Section 5(1) of the Charities Act 2005) within New Zealand. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas of support:-

• The advancement of education by advancing and supporting education in all aspects of, and research into, sustainable and efficient farming and agricultural practices;

• The advancement of education and the relief of poverty by supporting the social and economic development of the Pacific Islands, together with education in New Zealand of persons of Pacific Island (and in particular, Solomon Island) descent;

• The advancement of religion by advancing and promoting Christian teaching and activities in New Zealand; and

• The benefit of the Morrinsville community by advancing and supporting cultural and educational purposes and, in particular, the study of Morrinsville's history and preservation of historical sites, information and artefacts as well as the encouragement of Morrinsville's artists and performers.
